Saturday, June 7th, 2008 1:30 AM Summer Time! Hey There! It's feeling like summer here in Ohio... today it was 92 degrees! I'm excited about the things planned for this summer. In just a few weeks we'll be seeing old friends and meeting new friends at Lakeside ... I hope you'll be there too sometime this summer. You can check out my appearances page here on the website to see my schedule at Lakeside. I know for most of you school is probably out by now. I've been thinking about something I wanted to encourage you with. Everyone knows summer vacation is a break from school for most children... but I was thinking that even though you may be taking a break from school, there's really no need to take a break from learning. Did you you know that we are all learning, all the time...even grown-ups? In fact I believe if we ever stop learning  we stop growing... maybe even stop living! There is this incredible energy and adventure associated with learning and discovering new things and summer time is a great time for us to all learn so many new things. I hope you'll take advantage of some the opportunities you may have this summer to discover something new about life and the world you live in. If you and your family are traveling this summer to a new city or vacation spot drop me a note and tell me something new you saw or learned about the place you visited. One great place to hang out this summer, where I know you will learn something new, is your local public library. Most libraries have summer reading programs for children of all ages. Visit your local public library and ask them about some of the special programs they have planned just for kids this summer. You'll be glad you did! Reading is such a cool way to spend a lazy summer day... I hope you'll get lost in a good book this summer and have a great adventure reading and using your imagination.
